The successful launch of a brand-new transmitter site in Rochdale

We have launched a new transmitter site in Rochdale in partnership with technology provider Soniic, significantly expanding indoor digital radio coverage across the area.

The upgrade means services on the multiplex can now be received indoors in around 100,000 additional homes across Rochdale and surrounding areas.

Working alongside new technology partner Soniic, the relocated transmitter is designed to improve signal strength and listening quality for audiences who previously experienced limited indoor reception.

The launch marks a major step forward in our investment into local digital radio infrastructure and wider access to community and independent radio services.

Alongside the transmitter expansion, we have also launched a redesigned website featuring updated station information, improved online listening access, and a stronger digital platform for stations, listeners and partners.

With the upgraded infrastructure now in place, East Manchester DAB is also inviting community, commercial and specialist radio stations to enquire about joining our multiplex.
